Elf Academy at WWT Washington
Christmas is coming and to help spread the festive cheer, our popular Elf Academy is once again opening its doors to young recruits.
Enrol on one of our special workshops and learn everything you need to know to gain your all-important Elf-tificate, including special ‘elf' & safety guidelines, the spirit of kindness, gift wrapping for beginners and essential craft skills.
Our Head Elf and her assistants will guide elves-to-be in the art of creating your own wooden crafts and magic reindeer food to sprinkle outside your home on Christmas Eve!
Training will continue as you wrap and label your pre-loved book (this can be a pre-loved book in good condition or new) and in the spirit of festive kindness, this will then be donated to a local children's charity in time for Christmas.
Finish your experience with a special graduation ceremony, when elf recruits will receive their Elf-tificate! Then enjoy a well-earned hot drink in our cafe.
Dates: Sunday 15 December / Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 December
Times: 10am - 11.30am and 1pm - 2.30pm.
Cost: £12 per person* (includes a hot drink voucher and take-home crafts for trainee elves)
Suitable for: 4+ Due to the focus required over the hour-and-a-half period needed to become a fully qualified elf, this event is not suitable for under-4s. We would ask that only elf recruits (aged 4+) and their grown-ups attend this event. Elf fancy dress is optional but positively encouraged – for both little ones and grown-ups!
*Admission to WWT Washington Wetland Centre is not included in the Elf Academy price. The ticket covers this activity only. Unless you are a WWT member and qualify for free entry, general admission tickets are also required if you wish to visit our site outside of the event and must be purchased separately.
