Have you ever wanted to learn pottery but don’t know where to begin? Then this workshop is perfect for you.
Using Air Dry Clay is the ideal introduction to the world of pottery, it's the affordable alternative to kiln fired clay.
Learn how to make a pinch pot with local artist Kelly. She will inspire you to create something wonderful out of clay using the Pinch Pot technique.
Offering 18 years of teaching experience, patience and humour, Kelly will show you with demonstrations, support and examples, how to make your own clay creation here at WWT Slimbridge.
All materials will be provided for you, all you need to bring is some creativity! You will have access to tools to shape your own creation.
Each person will receive:
• A portion of air-dry clay
• Pot of slip and brush
• Some paints
• Small amount of varnish
Enjoy the tactile properties of clay with Kelly on this beginner’s workshop.
After the course you will get to take home some paint and varnish to complete your pot, once the clay is fully dry.
Please bring a tub (6 inches x 4 inches in size) to take home your creation.
Cost: £65 per person, including admission and a £5 voucher to spend in the Kingfisher Kitchen or kiosks.
